AZTREONAM

Aztreonam is very effective to teat the disease which is caused by infections of bacteria. In some cases, it should be taken with other antibiotics. This medication will not recommend in case of flu, colds or other viral infections. It is available in the form of injection.

Before Using This Medication

The following should be considered before taking this medicine:

  • Pregnancy: If someone is pregnant or if someone is plan to pregnancy, consult the health care providers before taking this medicine.
  • Breast-feeding: This drug passes into the breast milk in a small quantity. Therefore, take it after the counseling the doctor.
  • Allergies: If someone has an allergic reaction to this drug, tell the doctor immediately. Also inform the health care providers, if someone has allergic to any other substances such as preservatives, foods, dyes etc.
  • Other medical problems: If someone has other health problems such as kidney problems or liver disease, they may affect the use of this medication.

Proper Use of This Medicine

Patients should use this medication as directions by the health care providers. The dosage of this medication is based on the medical condition and response to therapy. Patients should follow all instructions about this drug.

Side effects of this drug

Less common or rare side effects of this medication include blood in urine, chest pain, convulsions, diarrhea, problems in breathing, swelling at the injection site, numbness of tongue, skin rash, cough, loss of appetite, yellow skin or eyes, headache and unusual bleeding.
